Forest Service Experience |
Each of the RPFs and foresters, prior to working for SLMC, has 15 to 30 years of experience working with the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) in timber sale planning and administration on National Forests in Northern California. Our staff has on-the-ground experience on every National Forest in California. All SLMC foresters are familiar with Forest Service standards, requirements, and procedures for sale layout, cruising, marking, preparing and administrating contracts, salvage sales, biomass thinning, fuel breaks, logging systems, road location and silvicultural prescriptions. SLMC has the NATCRS software in its computer system. Frank Borden is a U.S. Forest Service certified silviculturist and certified timber sale inspector.
All SLMC foresters have strong experience in timber sale layout, logging systems, road location, and unit location. We all have skills in aerial photo interpretation, mapping, cruising, and contract preparation and administration. Over the past ten years SLMC has completed several large marking and cruising projects on the Plumas, Lassen, Stanislaus, and Sequoia National Forests as well as the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit.
